General

Conditions may vary for each event. You will always receive a briefing before the specific event with additional information. The general participation conditions are below:

The trip is a distance where there is no mandatory race element. In the performance ride, the swim stroke is free. The minimum age for participation in the performance run is 16 years on the day of participation.

Caps provided must be worn by participants in a clearly visible manner.

Swimmers are allowed to wear special equipment during the race only after permission from the referee. Special equipment may include flippers, monofin etc. Where appropriate, the referee may attach special conditions to participation using these pieces of equipment. The use of swimming goggles, nose clips and earplugs does not require special permission.

Bringing game equipment is not allowed.

The organisation is not responsible for any injury, damage or suffering, of or to the participant or his or her property.

The race organisers may set a time limit in consultation with the tour organisation. If this is exceeded, a participant may be taken out of the water. There is no refund of the start fee in this case.

Before and/or during a race in which weather conditions occur that may endanger the participants, the race may be interrupted or cancelled at the discretion of the referee.

Only if the competition management decides prior to the start of the first programme not to let the competition take place, the participant is entitled to a refund of the starting fee.

18 years or older:

I hereby declare that I am healthy and physically fit enough to participate in my chosen distance at Grindgat.nl

I declare to be able to complete the chosen distance within the time set by the organisation. I also declare to follow all instructions of persons appointed by the organisation during the swim.

As a participant I take full responsibility for all risks concerning swimming in (open) water.

Under 18 years:

If the participant has an age under 18 years, one of the parents or supervisors hereby declares his or her agreement to the following:

I hereby declare that the participant is healthy and physically fit enough to participate in my chosen distance at Grindgat.nl.

I declare that the participant can meet the chosen distance within the time set by the organisation. I also declare to follow all instructions of persons appointed by the organisation during the swim.

As supervisor of the participant, I take full responsibility for all risks concerning swimming in open water.
